I probably mentioned this before but now I'm going to go into more detail. I was an operating on technician in the National Guard and I was fortunate to be the tech for a surgeon who was doing a double bypass. and this was 19 80 or so. they didn't use any veins or arteries at all from the body it was this manufactured piece of I don't know what it was made out of cotton something like that and some hard substance and it was like in the shape of a Y. and I had a basin and I soaked it in his blood and handed it back to the doctor and he stitched it I guess attached to his arteries. do you know what those were made out of in those days?

and in case there's somebody new here because I'm pretty sure I mentioned this before here maybe not. I was gowned and had a mask on Etc but I wasn't part of the surgical team in another operating procedure. I hung back far enough you know I was probably six feet from the operating room table. and there was the heart lung machine that the blood went through while they were you know doing surgery whatever it is. and they were three big Steel cabinets that were probably 3 ft by 3 ft by 4 ft and now they're like one foot by one foot by one foot. it's just amazing how science has changed medicine has changed I should say over the decades. just thought I'd throw that last one in. I'll be looking forward to your part two.
